My thoughts on Snow Totals through Sunday morning (before changing over to rain in the DC Region):

  • Erie, PA: 2-4 “
  • Oil City, PA: 4-6″
  • Butler, PA: 4-7″
  • Pittsburgh, PA: 4-6″
  • Uniontown, PA: 4-6″
  • State College: 2-5″
  • Frederick, MD: 3-6″
  • Rockville, MD: 2-4″
  • BWI Airport, MD: 1-3″
  • Reagan National Airport, DC: 1-2″

Start Time: 5:30AM in Western PA. DC Region 10AM-12PM
End Time: 12-2AM Sunday in Western PA. 6-8AM in the DC Region.

Steadiest Precipitation: Morning and Early Afternoon for Western PA. Afternoon/Evening for DC.

Biggest Threats: Heavy precipitation reducing visibilities and causing slick roads. Even if it changes over to a wintry mix, cold surface temperatures from the bitter cold the past few days will cause ice on roads. Use caution if you are driving.

Risks: If colder air wins out, snow ratios could be higher and less mixing would occur, increasing snow totals.
