Cold Continues. DC Dries Out. Heavy Lake-Effect Snow Picks Up in Western PA. Wind Chills Well Below in Western PA.

After a snow-filled Tuesday in the entire region, the DC Region will start to dry out today. Clouds will start to decrease as well in DC before mostly sunny skies move in on Thursday. Partly cloudy skies will track into the DC Region on Friday. Highs in the low to mid 20s this afternoon and on Thursday in DC will rise into the low to mid 30s on Friday. Lows in the low 10s tonight will bump up into the upper 10s to low 20s on Thursday night before mid to upper 10s settle in on Friday night. Western PA will see lake-effect snow increase today as heavy snow is possible. Erie, PA could see 6-12″ by tomorrow morning while the Pittsburgh, PA area sees a dusting to 1″. Partly sunny skies will move in on Thursday before snow moves in again on Friday. Highs in the low to mid 10s today will drop into the upper single digits to low 10s tomorrow before mid to upper 10s settle in on Friday. Lows in the positive and negative single digits tonight will rise into the upper single digits and low 10s tomorrow night before low single digits shuffle in on Friday night. Wind chills could drop to as low as -20 over the next 3 days in western PA. Bundle up, hunker down, or do anything possible to stay warm through the rest of the week. Take care and drive safe!
