Burst of Warmth Then Winter Returns

Posted on
Due to current family obligations and business of work, I am going to summarize the forecast today.

Forecast:

Western PA:

Main threat: Rain changing over to snow during the middle of the week. Ice jam remains a threat, although ice levels have declined a little bit.

  • Mainly dry conditions over the next couple of days before a slopfest moves in on Wednesday. Rain changing over to snow could allow for ice to form on the roads making for dangerous travel. Moderate snowfall accumulations could fall, especially in NW PA where conditions get colder. Freezing rain and sleet will also occur with this system. Highs in the 40s and 50s the next couple of days will decline into the 30s and 40s on Wednesday. Lows in the 30s and 40s the next couple of nights will drop into the single digits and teens late Wednesday night into early Thursday.

DC Region:

Main threat: Rain during the middle of the week

  • Dry and warm conditions the next couple of days will give way to steady rains on Wednesday. Highs in the 60s the next couple of days will decline on Wednesday. Lows in the 30s and low 40s are expected.

Good News: Warmth over the next couple of days.

Bad News: Storm during the middle of the week followed by colder conditions.

Be safe! Especially on Wednesday.
